Roku Gin - Suntory
- In stock, ready to ship
- Inventory on the way
Roku Gin means "six" in Japanese. Six like the number of plants used in its production - Sakura flower, yuzu bark, Sansho pepper, Sakura leaf, Sencha tea and Gyokuro tea - and like the 6 sides of the bottle which is of a particular hexagonal shape. The bottle design is complemented by the rice paper (washi) label, adorned with traditional Japanese calligraphy.
Roku Gin was born from the genius of Shinjiro Torii, the founder of Suntory, whose goal was to produce a Japanese distillate made exclusively from natural products from his country. The delicate essence of cherry blossom (sakura), for example, is obtained by vacuum distillation in stainless steel stills, while the intense taste of yuzu is obtained by distillation in copper stills.
