This terrific, easy-drinking white wine is versatile and bright. The 2018 Bolgheri Vermentino shows the green papaya and lime aromas that are characteristic of the grape, along with salty mineral notes that recall the beach-front vineyards of Bolgheri. The finish is snappy and cooling.
Straw yellow with greenish highlights in colour, the wine presents an ample range of intense and fragrant aromas which include citrus, candied, and passion fruit. The flavours are well supported by the freshness and by a mineral vein which give the wine much savour and a lengthy persistence on the palate.
The first vintage of Vermentino was 1996. The inspiration behind this wine was the desire to reintroduce one of the indigenous varieties from this part of the Tyrrhenian coast, recognized and appreciated since the 1990’s for its aromatic qualities. Bolgheri’s microclimate is particularly favorable for Vermentino production due to both the territory’s orientation and proximity to the sea which gives the wine pronounced mineral notes, freshness and aromatic qualities
