Sourced from the entire Wachau but only on terraced vineyards, the 2018 Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Terrassen opens with an intense and aromatic stone-fruit bouquet intermixed with some flinty notes. Piquant, lush and salty on the palate, this is a stimulating and quite intense Veltliner with moderate weight but good phenolic grip and crystalline freshness.

Domane Wachau is a renowned wine producer located in the Wachau region of Austria. The history of this winery dates back to the 12th century when the monks of the Melk Abbey first started cultivating grapes in the region. Today, Domane Wachau is known for producing some of the finest white wines in Austria.

The style of production at Domane Wachau is focused on sustainable and organic farming practices. The winery has been certified as sustainable by the Austrian Winegrowers Association and uses only natural fertilizers and pest control methods. The grapes are handpicked and carefully sorted to ensure only the best quality fruit is used in the winemaking process.

The wines produced by Domane Wachau are primarily white wines, with a focus on the Grüner Veltliner and Riesling grape varieties. The Grüner Veltliner is the most widely planted grape in Austria and is known for its crisp acidity and citrus notes. The Riesling grape is also well-suited to the Wachau region, producing wines with a mineral character and a long finish.

The wines produced by Domane Wachau are classified according to the Wachau Codex, which is a system that categorizes wines based on their ripeness and sugar content. The categories range from Steinfeder, which is the lightest and most refreshing style, to Smaragd, which is the richest and most full-bodied style.

Overall, Domane Wachau is a producer that is dedicated to producing high-quality wines using sustainable and organic farming practices. Their focus on the Grüner Veltliner and Riesling grape varieties, as well as their adherence to the Wachau Codex, has resulted in some of the finest white wines in Austria.
